Over the holidays, Dr. Michael Burnett, who has served as the Director of the School of Human Resource Education & Workforce Development since 1995, was offered the opportunity to serve as the Executive Associate Dean of the College of Agriculture. In this newly created role, Mike will be responsible for assisting with the daily oversight of the Dean’s Office, conducting routine administrative duties and taking the lead on major initiatives, particularly those involving academic programs in the College of Agriculture. We congratulate Mike on this new professional development opportunity and are pleased that he intends to continue supporting the educational mission of his tenure home in SHREWD through graduate course instruction and service on doctoral dissertation committees. Given this transition, I have asked our Interim Associate Dean for Distance Learning and Leadership, Dr. Ed Holton, to take on the additional role of Interim Director of SHREWD effective January 13, 2014, while permanent leadership options are explored. Please join me in thanking Ed for taking on this important responsibility!
