We are very pleased to announce a new collaborative effort between the School of Human Resource Education’s Human Resource and Leadership Development concentration and the Department of Military Science and Leadership at LSU. We have put our heads together and come up with a Military Leadership Track through the HRLD concentration. We believe that our new collaborative effort will
- Enable LSU to better prepare the military leaders of tomorrow
- Elevate the leadership preparation for the Army at LSU
- Prepare cadets better for life beyond the military
- Create a new model for military leadership programs
- Extends the traditions of the “Old War Skule” as a leader in preparing military officers
Students will be HRE majors with a concentration in HRLD and complete all major requirements. We will coordinate our leadership development courses with the Military Science leadership courses to produce graduates who are fully prepared to lead in the military AND civilian world.
By joining forces and collaborating we believe we have come up with a model that will help make our Military Science program even stronger than it already is and attract more quality students to SHREWD. It is a true “win-win.” We are already enrolling some students in our major to complete this track.
We are thrilled with this new partnership and thank Lt. Colonel Burns, Professor of Military Science, Captain Conger and Linda Warmsley for their wonderful collaboration. We are excited to be working together to help these young people prepare for their military and civilian careers.
