The LSU Police Department may be accepting applications for POLICE OFFICER 1-A, 2-A or 3-A (Multiple Positions) for both POST (Peace Officer Standards & Training) certified or Non-POST certified. Positions are in a training series; level of positions filled and pay above entry will depend on qualifications of candidates selected. Must have a score for the 9500-LEAPS Exam unless currently occupying a Civil Service job in the LEAPS Test Series with permanent status or re-employment eligibility.
Police Officer 1-A – No specialized experience or training is required.
Police Officer 2-A – One year of experience in law enforcement work.
Police Officer 3-A – Two years of experience in law enforcement work.
All must possess a valid Louisiana driver’s license; must have attained eighteenth birthday at time of application; an applicant who has been convicted of a felony or who is under indictment on a felony charge will be disqualified until relief from the disabilities imposed by state and federal laws is granted.
Special Requirements: Willingness and ability to perform physically strenuous activities relative to the nature of law enforcement.
