As part of the Mechanical Engineering Sid Fuchs Seminar Series, the LSU College of Engineering in association with the Institute for Advanced Materials is hosting Dr. John W. Hutchinson for his talk entitled Structural Stability at Large and Small Scales: Shells and Soft Materials. Dr. Hutchinson is a renowned scholar in the field of applied mechanics and has made seminal contributions to the mechanics of structures and mechanics of materials. He earned his doctoral degree from Harvard University in 1963, and currently teaches there at the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences.
