As the state’s flagship university, LSU has a long history of providing objective research to inform policy and business decisions. To continue and expand on that tradition, the E. J. Ourso College of Business created the LSU Economics & Policy Research Group. The new research group was formed out of the college’s Division of Economic Development, which has produced a widely used employment forecast for decades.
While pursuing one of the college’s core focus areas of enhancing economic development in the state, the Division of Economic Development’s research portfolio grew to include a wider variety of economics and policy-related projects in recent years. Building on that success, the LSU Economics & Policy Research Group was created with a broader mandate to use economics research to answer a wide array of policy and business questions in Louisiana and beyond.
