There’s no question that LSU has great school spirit and support for our Fighting Tigers. If you haven’t already been to Tiger Stadium, experiencing an LSU football game is a must for any sports fan! There really is no other place like Death Valley on a Saturday night. Besides the game itself, the second best part of game day is what goes on before- tailgating! Tailgating is a great time with music, friends and spirit! Below is a tailgating cheat sheet to make your time tailgating a memorable, yet comfortable and safe experience!
Love Purple, Live Gold
Don’t forget to dress in purple, gold or tiger print to show your support! All of the shades of purple and gold really pump everyone up on campus for the game. It’s the ultimate way to show everyone who you’re rooting for!
Choose your outfit (and shoes) carefully
While tailgating, you will be on your feet…a lot! Make sure to wear really comfortable shoes. Also, with this Louisiana heat, it can be dreadful if you wear something that makes you really hot. Make sure to choose an outfit that’s cool and comfortable- just don’t forget your purple and gold!
Expect minimal cell service
Because of so many people in one place, a lot of times it is hard to get in touch with your friends through cell phones on game day. Make sure you have a meeting place before the game so if you split up, you can still find each other before entering the stadium.
Print your ticket before game day
You don’t want to forget to print your student section ticket before you come out to tailgate! Make sure that you do this in advance so you don’t have anything to worry about on game day morning except for showing your spirit for the team!
