EXST 4025 SAS Programming
EXST 4025 SAS Programming (3) Prereq.: EXST 2201 or equivalent. Reading, processing, manipulating, transforming, and outputting data in various formats; descriptive and summary statistics procedures; subsetting and combining datasets; DO loops and arrays; industry standard programming practices.
Note: This course is a programming class that will teach you how to work with your data (get it into SAS, clean it, modify it). It is not a statistics class and you will not learn how to analyze your data.
This course is taught using the “flipped” approach. Students are expected to watch the videos (PowerPoint presentations and SAS demonstrations narrated by the instructor) before attending class so that they are ready to write code during class. Ideally, they will also add to their SAS journal (summary of concepts covered) and complete the daily exercises before coming to class on days when there is a homework assignment to work on.
