Dr. Boryung Ju co-chaired the Association for Information Science and Technology’s (ASIS&T) 76th annual conference meeting in Montreal, Canada on November 1-5, 2013. “This is an excellent opportunity to show our peers and the LSU community that the School of Library & Information Science and its faculty are contributing to our field in a unique and relevant way,” Ju said. “I am honored to have been appointed co-chair to this year’s meeting.”
ASIS&T is the association for information professionals and scholars leading the search for new and better theories, techniques, and technologies to improve access to information since 1937. The global organization broadly covers information science and related areas such as information behavior, information retrieval, information organization and representation, information seeking behaviors, user modeling, competitive intelligence, knowledge management, digital curation, social informatics, bibliometrics, and information literacy. ASIS&T counts among its membership information specialists from diverse fields such as computer science, law, linguistics, management, librarianship, engineering, medicine, chemistry, and education.
