Residential Life and First Year Experience have united to develop a living experience with unique opportunities for sophomore students who want to Live Gold.
Sophomore Gold is an opportunity for second-year students to live with their peers on campus, receive academic and professional mentorship targeted towards the sophomore year experience, and grow as a student leader in the LSU community. During the year, students will engage in activities to promote academic success, career exploration, civic engagement and service, commitment to LSU, and leadership development.
Some of the programs and mentorship opportunities through Sophomore Gold include:
- Monthly Golden Opportunity dinners
- Faculty mentors
- Resume workshops
- Internship discussions
- Study abroad connections
- Preparation for career fairs
- Etiquette dinner
- Tour of Tiger Stadium
Students selected to be in the Sophomore Gold community will live together in East Campus Apartments (ECA). The East Campus Apartments offer an independent apartment-style living environment, while still taking advantage of all the conveniences of living on campus. The apartments are also conveniently located in the heart of campus next to the UREC, Student Union, and several academic buildings.
Applications close January 29, 2016. For questions or additional information, contact Amy Gardner.
