LSU Resident Assistants (RAs) are live-in leaders, role models, and community builders. As one of the premier student leadership positions on campus, RAs are carefully selected, placed on a staff team, and trained by the Department of Residential Life to develop a positive living and learning experience for on-campus residents. RAs create programs that enhance community, meet residents’ personal and academic needs, build positive relationships with residents, and create a safe environment where residents have opportunities to grow academically and socially.
College can be a challenging transition for residents, and RAs should be role models and advocates for various campus resources. Your role as an RA is to know the residents in your community on a personal level, provide them with guidance and support, and be excited for their successes. Are you cut out for this role?
