Move-in Day for fall 2013 was Thursday, August 22, 2013, and it was a tremendous success!
The Res Life staff was all hands on deck for Move-in Day, fall 2013, and welcomed over 2,500 students to their on-campus homes, joining the nearly 2,000 early arrivals that were already on campus for Greek recruitment, band, academic boot camp, S.T.R.I.P.E.S, and other programs! As in previous years, we had hundreds of volunteers from across campus on hand assisting students moving into their rooms and apartments.LSU’s new President & Chancellor King Alexander was volunteering the entire day, helping students move into their rooms, and talking with parents and families. Hundreds of parents joined Dr. Alexander for a free lunch at one of the two dining facilities on campus, and a good time was had by all.
Experience a little of the fun and excitement from the day by checking out the Move-in Day video below (on the Res Life YouTube channel), as well has an extensive photo gallery below of the day’s activities (on the Res Life Facebook page)!
Although it was a busy day with a steady stream of students moving in, the staggered check-in process continues to help lessen the traffic impact on campus.
Parking was FREE in the new LSU parking garage on Move-in Day, courtesy of LSU Traffic & Parking! The new parking garage is in the Union Square, on the corner of Raphael Semmes and East Campus Drive, in the same complex as the Barnes and Noble.
