Residents are invited to register for BOLD in the Bayou: Activating Students for Change, a mini retreat and service project February 15-16, 2014 that will enhance their understanding of social justice and inclusion, while connecting them with LSU students and staff.
Through interactive and engaging sessions and the exploration of your stories and the stories of others, 50 LSU students will become more aware of social justice concepts, sustainability, and community leadership at a one-day mini retreat on the LSU Campus. The second part of the mini retreat features a service component where students will work with Green Light New Orleans, go into homes in New Orleans, talk to residents about sustainability, and install energy efficient light bulbs and backyard vegetable gardens.
There is no registration fee, and participants will be provided meals and snacks on both days, as well as transportation to New Orleans on February 16.
