LSU Student Incubator Events
The Venture Challenge provides the top LSU student-run businesses with access to capital and resources needed to achieve long-term success. A total of $25,000 is distributed each April to the winners of this startup competition.
The Venture Challenge is looking to support new, independent ventures in the early growth stage. The startup venture must be a current member of the LSU Student Incubator and all LSU students are encouraged to become a member of the Student Incubator. Any startup venture that fits these requirements, including non-profits, can enter.
This is a great opportunity during the Venture Challenge to showcase your business to the community. It is a chance to network and tell people in the business community about what you’re doing. So, even if you are not pitching your idea on the stage, you still have the chance to pitch your idea to the attendees and possible investors who are at the event!
Seminars are held once a month to give Student Incubator members a chance to get information they wouldn’t otherwise have access too. Some of our seminars include bringing in marketing professionals, lawyers, and bankers to answer your tough questions. We also do entrepreneur roundtable events where members can all be together and talk about problems they’ve faced and help come up with solutions for their peers.
Elevator Pitch Competition
We hold our Elevator Pitch Competition in the fall during Baton Rouge Entrepreneurship Week (BREW). The competition is open to all LSU students and is great exposure and great practice as you are starting and growing your business.
