How to get involved
1. Meet with Your Consultants: Business Plan Development
Flores MBA Graduate Assistants and staff from the Louisiana Business & Technology Center will provide individual coaching sessions on business plan development to LSU Student Incubator members. During the development process, participants will receive a checklist from their business consultants to ensure their plan is properly produced and formatted.
2. First Round: Submit Your Business Plan
The Venture Challenge competition site will launch on March 1. Members must submit their business plans on the competition site by March 28. Participants can continually update their plans until this deadline is reached. Once the deadline is reached, all plans will be judged and scored by a panel of members from the LSU and local business communities. The top four scoring plans will advance to the final live round of the Venture Challenge on April 25. Members who submit their business plans will receive feedback from the judges on their plans.
3. Final Round: Live Competition and Startup Showcase
A) Present Your Idea
On April 25, participants with the top four plans will give a 10 minute investor pitch to both the panel of judges and a live audience. Each pitch will be followed by a 10 minute question and answer session with the panel of judges made up of local business professionals.
B) Participate in the Startup Showcase
All members of the LSU Student Incubator will be invited to showcase their businesses during the final live round of the Venture Challenge at the LSU Student Union on April 25. Presenters will have the opportunity to set up information about their business at a booth and network with local professionals to promote their businesses.
