Summer Sprouts Camp is a hands-on outdoor experience for children ages 4-7. Hilltop’s 14 acres is the perfect outdoor space to learn about plant and animal life. Kids will enjoy our trails, ponds, trees and flowers. Sign up for this fun and educational camp experience!
Junior Master Gardener Program (JMG) was developed by the University Cooperative Extension Network, and is a highly successful program that introduces young gardeners that are 7-10 years of age to the fun, art and science of gardening. The program is offered three times a year in the fall (two-day Thanksgiving Camp), spring (two-day Easter Camp) and summer (third week of June ) from 9am-1pm. Community partners include the East Baton Rouge Master Gardeners and the Junior League of Baton Rouge.
LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE EXPLORATIONS: Design Ideas into Action is a weeklong day camp for high school students (ages 14-18) to explore the exciting profession of landscape architecture that encourages creative expression, critical thinking, and inspires civic responsibility.
Louisiana Wetlands Exploration Day is a daylong event for fourth and fifth graders that uses the arboretum as an outdoor classroom to teach topics about our wetlands. The annual program is made possible by a partnership with Entergy, and the LSU AgCenter and their Youth Wetlands Program.
