What happens after I complete my FAFSA?
You may be required to submit certain documents to verify the information you reported on your FAFSA. This can include copies of the IRS Tax Return Transcript, household size statements, and statements of untaxed income. These forms are to be submitted, upon request, to the LSU Office of Enrollment Management, not to the Federal processor. Your financial aid will not be complete until you have submitted the required documents.
When will I find out if I will receive a scholarship?
Scholarship offers begin in mid-December. Offers are made to eligible students as they are admitted to the university, until funding has been exhausted.
Why isn't my TOPS award showing on my fee bill?
All TOPS awards require full time enrollment. You will need to schedule enough hours to be enrolled full time.
Students are considered independent if they can answer “yes” to one of the dependency questions on the FAFSA. These questions ask if the student is 24, married, has a dependent, is on active duty, etc. Students that are self-supporting are not necessarily considered independent.
