LSU students will work with teachers and students Baton Rouge elementary schools to supplement classroom instruction with tutoring to improve standardized test scores.
Students commit 2-3 hours per week, with a schedule established between the school teacher and the LSU Tigers Tutoring student.
Tutoring begins Friday, September 29.
The application deadline is Friday, September 5. Interested students should submit a résumé and cover letter via TigerLink. Volunteers will then undergo an interview and training process.
About Tigers Tutoring
Join Volunteer LSU in East Baton Rouge Parish elementary schools, some of which are the highest-need elementary schools in Louisiana where less than 25% of students perform at grade level on the LEAP exam. Students will recognize and critically reflect on community issues and barriers facing Louisiana students and teachers while interacting with students to improve achievement.

The Tigers Tutoring program is free and open to all LSU students, including undergraduates regardless of major, graduate students, and students at the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine and the LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center.
