The Homecoming Court is an annual tradition that recognizes exceptional members of the LSU student body from all classifications, including graduate and professional students. The Homecoming Court is chosen by a multi-stage selection process that includes judging panel application review, interviews, and a vote of the LSU student body. The Homecoming King and Queen will be announced at halftime during the LSU vs. Missouri football game on Saturday, October 1.
(1) Judging Panel
A panel of judges will review applications and select the top 19 men and top 19 women based on a first-round paper review of application. The 38 students selected in this round to advance to interviews will be announced on the LSU Homecoming website September 12 by noon.
The top 38 candidates will then participate in a short interview. The final 16 students selected in this round will be the members of the 2016 Homecoming Court and will be announced on the LSU Homecoming website September 16 by 3 p.m.
(3) Student body vote
The LSU student body will vote for Homecoming King and Queen from noon September 19 through 11:59 p.m. September 29. Only senior members of the Homecoming Court are eligible for Queen and King.
