About Survey of Vulnerability
Help address issues of poverty in Baton Rouge by working with the Capital Area Alliance for the Homeless. Volunteers will conduct a short questionnaire one-on-one with homeless people in a safe environment.
Students can sign up for as many two hour shifts as they would like throughout the week. Depending on the shift, students will be surveying the homeless population, serving food to people who are homeless, or entering information from the Survey of Vulnerability.
The information collected from the surveys will be used to help identify the needs of people who are homeless and secure federal funding to provide services to homeless populations.
A required training session will be scheduled in January 2015 prior to the service week.
The Survey of Vulnerability is free to all participants and is open to all students, regardless of major or classification, but advance registration is required.
