The mission of Campus Life is to enhance student learning through innovative initiatives focused on the tenets of involvement, leadership, and service that enrich the LSU experience.
Campus Life supports and advises six student organizations that uphold the three tenets: Geaux BIG Baton Rouge, Homecoming Committee, Kitchens on the Geaux, Leading Streak, Student Activities Board, and Volunteer LSU. Campus Life also has oversight of the more than 300 student organizations at LSU.
We affirm and uphold the values of the Office of the Dean of Students:
We affirm the dignity, worth, and individuality of each person. We treat others with mutual respect and civility in all of our interactions.
We honor commitments and each other striving to perform honestly, objectively and with the highest standard of professionalism.
We embrace difference by making all feel welcomed. We are intentional in ensuring that diverse perspectives and experiences are encouraged and valued.
We are committed to creating a community that advocates for all that is fair and just. We care about others and model being considerate and kind, while seeking to understand.
We foster an environment of support, openness, and collegiality, in which we work together to achieve the mission of the university.
We believe leadership exists in many forms and that everyone has the capacity to lead and serve. Through facilitated experiences and opportunities, individuals can be successful now and in the future.
Review these values as part of the Office of the Dean of Students strategic plan.
In addition to the Office of the Dean of Students’ adopted values, Campus Life adds the following two values:
We are committed to ensuring our decisions maximize our financial, human, and physical resources. We will wisely and appropriately use those resources with which we are entrusted.
We support, challenge and advocate for students in their learning and development.
