A visiting student is any student who is enrolled and eligible to continue in coursework at another institution (in good academic and institutional standing), but is interested in attending LSU for one semester or summer semester.
Step 1: Complete the Online Application
The first step in the application process is to complete an online application for admission and pay the $40 non-refundable application fee. You will begin an application as a transfer student. On the “Enrollment Information” tab, you can indicate that wish to apply as a visiting student.
Upon submitting your application, you will receive an email confirming your application was received.
Step 2: Send your Official Transcripts
After applying, prospective visiting students should send an official transcript from each college or university attended, whether or not credit was earned, desired, or transferable. If you are currently enrolled in a college at the time your application is submitted, you should submit final transcripts from previous institutions, as well as an in-progress transcript from your current institution. At the end of your current semester, you should submit final transcripts from your current institution and ensure that the transcript lists any enrolled courses for upcoming semesters, if applicable.
Students will need to request for the Registrar from each college or university they attended to submit an eSCRIP-SAFE or mail an official transcript in a sealed envelope to the following address:LSU Office of Enrollment Management
1146 Pleasant Hall
Baton Rouge, LA 70803
Students accepted on a visiting student basis who wish to be considered for regular admission must complete a new application for admission and must supply official transcripts of all college work previously taken. These students will be evaluated on the admission standards in place for transfer students at the time of their application for regular admission. Visiting students who gain admission to the university as regularly accepted students are subject to the requirements of the catalog in effect at the time of their admission as regular students.
International students are not eligible to apply as a visiting student, except for the summer semester. International students are required to submit a TOEFL/IELTS/PTE score that meets admission requirements.
