You're accepted! Now what?
Step 1: Complete the FAFSA
If you would like to apply for need-based financial aid, as well as TOPS, you’ll need to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid as soon after January 1 as possible. To apply, you’ll need LSU’s school code, which is 002010. Apply early and be sure to check the FAFSA for the list of deadlines for state aid. Visit the Financial Aid website for more information on the FAFSA.
Step 2: Apply for Housing
Living on campus at LSU is extremely popular. If you’re interested in securing a spot on campus, you should apply for housing as soon as you’re admitted.
Step 3: Get Advised
As a re-entry student, you will not be able to schedule classes without contacting an academic advisor within the senior college you’ve been admitted to.
Step 4: Submit your Immunization Records
Louisiana law requires immunization against measles, mumps, rubella, and tetanus-diphtheria for all re-entry students (born on or after January 1, 1957) who have been out of school for one semester or longer. LSU also requires a completed tuberculosis questionnaire for all first-time LSU students. You should submit your records and complete the TB questionnaire prior to attending orientation.
Step 5: Complete Registration
Completing registration requires paying and submitting your fee bill. Fee bills are generated after you schedule your courses. Fee bills are released in May for the summer semester, in July for the fall semester, and in November for the spring semester. You can access your fee bill through your myLSU account. Select Fee Bill under Registration Services. Be sure to monitor your myLSU account for details.
