Although not required, living on campus at LSU is extremely popular. Students are urged to apply for housing as soon as they are admitted to the University.
How to Apply for Housing
Step 1: Get Admitted to LSU
Students must be admitted to LSU before they can apply for housing.
Step 2: Complete the Application on the Residential Life website
Once admitted to LSU, students can apply for housing on the Residential Life website. To apply, you’ll need your myLSU login and password, which were sent to the email address you used for your admission application. When you complete your housing application, you’ll need to select whether you’d like a residential college, the Honors House, other living-learning programs, or a traditional residence hall.
Step 3: Pay your Housing Deposit
Applying for housing requires a $150 deposit, with a $5 nonrefundable processing fee for credit card payments.
Step 4: Select your Housing Space
Students who apply for residential colleges, the Honors House, or other living-learning programs can provide preferred roommate information on their application, and they will have their rooms assigned by Residential Life staff in early May. Students who apply for traditional housing will go online in late May to select their building, room, and roommate preference.
