Honors College Admission Requirements
Students interested in the Honors College must have a 3.5 GPA, which is weighted by LSU. Students must meet either the ACT or SAT requirement. Students taking the ACT must have a 30 composite with a 30 English subscore, or a 29 composite with a 31 English subscore. Students taking the SAT must have a 1330 critical reading and math composite score with a 660 critical reading score. Students must also submit a writing score from either the ACT or SAT.
Steps to Apply for Honors College Admission
Step 1: Apply for Admission to LSU before November 15
A portion of the application for admission to LSU serves as the application for Honors College admission, and the deadline for Honors College consideration is November 15.
Students who already applied for admission to LSU, but did not indicate their interest in the Honors College can contact firstname.lastname@example.org to make this change on their application.
Step 2: Submit Writing Scores for the ACT or SAT
Students interested in Honors College consideration must complete the writing section of either the ACT or SAT and submit those scores officially to LSU.
Step 3: Get Admitted to LSU
New freshmen must be admitted to LSU before their admission into the Honors College will be considered.
