In this day and age, we live with the world at our finger tips and it can be frustrating when our technology doesn't work. Here are a few tips and resources that will help you to get connected at LSU.
In every classroom across campus there is a technology center fitted with anything and everything a professor might need to teach their class. This includes a computer, projector, document camera as well as a microphone. Having the same technology across campus makes for a seamless transition from the smallest to the largest of classrooms on campus.
There are various computer labs across campus including two in Middleton Library and one in the Student Union. These labs are fitted with Mac computers as well as Windows computers to suit students’ every need.
PRO TIP: Save your assignments to a flash drive so that you’ll be able to access your work from any computer on campus!
There are printers and copiers inside of all of the computer labs on campus. To print, you can use a computer that is inside of the lab, or you can print wirelessly from your laptop. There are also large print format options if you ever need to print a large poster for a class project.
In order to print, you will need to have your Tiger Card. Once you send your documents to the printer, you will need to swipe your card to be charged. Prices vary depending on what you’re doing, but for a normal, black and white copy, it is only 7 cents per page.
There are two help desks on campus, one is located in Middleton Library and the other is inside of the Frey Computing Services Center. If you ever have any problems with technology, go to the help desk! The people there are nice and will get your products fixed as soon as possible at no charge to you. They can help you with everything from connecting to the wifi to downloading programs.
