Starting at LSU is a very exciting and new time in your life, but it can also be overwhelming. Many students are nervous about getting lost or not being able to find their classes, but don’t worry! This post will help you learn how to find your classes and, hopefully, leave you feeling more confident about navigating your way around campus.
Step 1: Download the LSU Mobile App
The LSU Mobile App will save you from walking around campus with a giant paper map on your first day. With a map of LSU at your fingertips, you won’t need to worry about getting lost on campus. You can search for an LSU building by name, see it on the campus map, and navigate to it using your current location. Find out more in our recent post.
Step 2: Organize Your Schedule
Input your schedule into a calendar format, so you’ll know the order of the buildings you’ll be traveling to. Also, you’ll be more familiar with your what classes you’ll be going to at what times.
Step 3: Do a Mock Run Through
A few days before class starts, do a mock run through of the path you’ll be taking every day. With your LSU mobile app and organized schedule in hand, you’ll have no problem navigating your way through campus. Since you are doing this a few days before classes actually start, you’ll have no problem finding your way on the first day of school.
Don’t feel embarrassed if you don’t know where you’re going at first. There are many other freshmen in your shoes. If you’re a current student and you have advice for freshmen on their first day of class, leave it in the comments!
